Fall Contemporary Show: Luminous
About our performance...
The Druid Hills Dance Center presents its first Fall contemporary showcase, "Luminous" exploring the dichotomy between light and dark. This show is choreographed by Meg Morrissey, Mati Anderson, Diarra Webb, and Brit Ford. It will be performed by the DHDC student company and feature guest performances by the Fuerta Dance Company.
Location: Decatur Recreation Center
Date: Saturday, September 22nd
Time: Dancers arrive @ 3:45PM for dress rehearsal, Show starts @ 7PM
Tickets: Each DHDC company dancer receives 2 complimentary tickets to the performance. Use the "Buy Tickets" button below to visit our ticketing site. Select your 2 tickets from "complimentary tickets" (Families with two company dancers performing may take 4 complimentary tickets) and select any additional tickets you would like to purchase from "general admission." Additional tickets and tickets for guests may be purchased for $15 each. Checkout and print your tickets to present to the ticket usher at the show. The complimentary tickets listed are for company dancers ONLY. If you are a guest attending our show, please purchase the general admission tickets for $15/each.
Directions: We will be performing at the Decatur Recreation Center. The DRC is located in downtown Decatur, just off the square by the Marta Station. There is free parking available in the Library/Decatur Recreation Center Parking lot located behind the public library. There is paid street and deck parking all around the Decatur Square. Please enter the Center through the side entrance, just across from the library parking lot. Look for our DHDC signs.
Volunteers: Parents, we need your help! Please sign up here to be a ticket usher, dressing room chaperone, or apart of our clean up crew!
Costumes: Your dancers have received costumes during class last week. We have three Junior II costumes that will be handed out in class this week. Please make sure to label all of your costumes with your child's name and store in a safe place. I highly suggest steaming to release any wrinkles and ensure they are in pristine condition. All companies will be barefoot and no tights are needed for any pieces.
Hair and Makeup: Hair will be a low, slick, teased pony tail with a right side part for all companies. Please make sure you are using gel and hairspray to get rid of any fly-aways around the face, and backcomb the ponytail for added volume.
Youth: blush, mascara, nude toned eyeshadow, and a nude lipstick color
Junior I/II: foundation, blush, mascara, nude toned eyeshadow, and nude lipstick color
Senior I/II: foundation, blush, mascara, eyeliner, grey toned eyeshadow, and deep purple lipstick color
